Abstract
T2.2.-HR3000003 Vrsarski otoci
NATURA 2000 habitat type
1160-Large indentations of the coast where, in contrast to estuaries, the influence of freshwater is generally limited. These shallow indentations are generally sheltered from wave action and contain a great diversity of sediments and substrates with a well developed zonation of benthic communities. These communities have generally a high biodiversity. The limit of shallow water is sometimes defined by the distribution of the Zosteretea and Potametea associations.
1170-Reefs include hard substrates which arise from the sea floor and which are continuously submerged or emerge at low tide, such as rocks, rocky sandflats and mudflats, and biogenic concretions or encrustations (e.g. mussel beds or honeycomb (Sabellaria) reefs), but also stones and erratics on submarine moraine ridges.
