Abstract

T2.2-HR3000003 Vrsarski otoci-Terrestrial habitat
F.4.1.1.1.-Areas of stony coast covered with halophytic vegetation (Ass-Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati

The most widespread is the vegetation of maritime rocks that belongs to the Crithmo-Limonietea class. Plants in such habitats are exposed to strong mechanical action by wind and waves, large fluctuation in temperature, scarcity of fertile soil, and high concentration of sodium chloride. Because of such extreme conditions, a very small number of species develops within the vegetation of maritime rocks. The best-represented association is Plantagini holostei-Limonietum cancellati.
