Metadata : Spatial distribution of significant wave height annual mean value (and Autumn, sping, summer, winter mean value)

Significant wave height Hs is the considered parameter. Mean wave height contours are at the locus of sites where the annual and seasonal mean values of wave height is constant. This constant value (in m) is depicted on each contour. Seasonal resolution: annual – all months; autumn – September, October, November; winter – December, January, February; spring – March, April, Mat; summer – June, July, August. Data are extracted by the Wind and Wave Atlas of the Mediterranean Sea. The atlas is the result of the Medatlas project led between 1999 and 2004 by a consortia of six partners (NTU - Greece, CS SI – France, ISMAR-CNR – Italy, Thetis – Italy, Semantic TS – France, Meteo France – France) and that was funded by the former Western European Union – WEAO Research Cell.
