Units of local self-government in Croatia are municipalities and cities, responsible for communal affairs and urban planning. As of 2017, Croatia is subdivided into 128 cities and 428 municipalities. Istria county is subdivided into 41 units of local self-government (10 cities and 31 municipalities)
