Abstract

This layer contains the cumulative value of COMADEX index alerts registered for each cell during the month
March 2019.
The HAZADR project (IPA Adriatic cross border hazadr.eu) has developed a system able to estimate the potential coastal risks associated to the presence of dangerous ship (such as oil-tankers) in the Adriatic.
The ship profile is synthesized by an index named COMADEX (COastal MArche region Dangerousness EXposure). It is
obtained from the analysis and the evaluation the following parmaters:
1 - Type of ship
2 - Gross tonnage
3 - Year launched
4 - Flag
5 - Register
6 - Wind (Beaoufort Scale)
7 - Waves height (Douglas Scale)
The combination created from COMADEX index, Douglas and Beaufort scales, allows the system to process the ranking of the ships. If a ship has a COMADEX index > 45, on the screen it is always red; if COMADEX score is > 35 – ≤ 45 and, in the same times, Douglas score is ≥ 7 and Beaufort score is ≥ 9, the ship appears red. In the other cases the ship appears yellow or green.
