Abstract
The Accumulation, Stability, Erosion Index 2012-2018 has been processed by ARPAE, the Regional Agency for Prevention, Environment and Energy of Emilia-Romagna, (IT). The analysis concern the entire Emilia-Romagna coastline between the Po di Goro river mouth and Cattolica (the Tavollo river mouth).
ASE defines the change in volume both in the emerged and submerged beach, whose limit is considered up to the line of breakwaters, if present, or the 2.5-3 m bathymetric depth.
The indicator describes the shoreline in terms of tendence to erosion, accumulation, or stability of the beach, in the temporal interval 2012-2018 (are considered losses and gains of more than 30 m3/m).
The indicator describes the coastline trend to erosion of each segments defined as “coastal cells”: the coastal cell is a portion of Emilia-Romagna shoreline characterized by the same coastal dynamics and processes.
